Since 2009, Vlada’s Seeds of Life has carried a simple but powerful vision: reconnect people with real food, natural living, and the timeless act of growing something with their own hands. Over the years, that vision has taken root in many unexpected places—from public seed exchanges in libraries across New York City to community gardens and backyard growers around the country.

But sometimes the most meaningful moments happen much closer to home.

Recently, Vlada’s Seeds of Life has found a particularly special home right here in Temecula—the very community where the inspiration for this project first began. If you’ve driven through Temecula’s beautiful wine country along De Portola Road, you may have noticed a charming little roadside stand selling fresh eggs and seasonal fruit. It’s the kind of stand that immediately makes you slow down, smile, and remember what local food used to look like.

What makes this stand even more inspiring is the people behind it.

Stands like this are exactly what we hope to see more of across the country: small, honest places where locally and organically produced food is sold directly to the public in its freshest form. No long supply chains. No warehouses. Just food grown nearby and shared with the community.

The stand was started by two young adults just recently out of their teenage years. At a time when many young people feel pulled away from the land and toward screens and cities, these two chose a different path—one rooted in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and community. Their effort reflects something Vlada’s Seeds of Life has passionately encouraged since the beginning: inspiring families, and especially young adults, to return to a more natural way of living.

Seeing that vision come to life in Vlada’s own hometown is incredibly rewarding.

To celebrate and support their stand, Vlada’s Seeds of Life will be sharing something special with the local community throughout the month of March. Visitors who stop by the stand will be able to pick up complimentary seed packets—rare heirloom varieties carefully selected for home gardeners and food lovers alike.

These are not ordinary seeds. Each packet contains special heirloom varieties, typically valued between $3.50 and $4.00, chosen to help people grow meaningful food at home.

If you’re passing through De Portola Road, we invite you to stop by:

  • Pick up some fresh eggs
  • Grab delicious local fruit
  • And take home a few heirloom seeds to start your own garden

Because we want as many community members as possible to enjoy them, we kindly ask visitors to please take only 2–3 seed packets per family.

Small actions like these help something beautiful grow: neighbors supporting neighbors, young farmers building dreams, and families rediscovering the joy of growing their own food.

From New York libraries to a tiny roadside stand in Temecula wine country, the seeds are spreading—and the future suddenly looks wonderfully green.
