Recently, something truly special unfolded in the heart of Temecula—a vibrant painting event that brought together art, community, and purpose. Hosted by Silvia Higuera-Backlund at the beautiful local equestrian venue CRC, the gathering welcomed 18 participants plus an incredible organizing crew for a day filled with creativity and connection.

🌱 A Meaningful Mission Behind the Event

Event aimed to bringing people together, promoting healthy lifestyles, and raise both awareness and funds for Vlada’s Seeds of Life.

The heart behind the event was simple yet powerful:
to foster community through art while supporting the mission of Vlada’s Seeds of Life—an initiative dedicated to connection, wellness, and giving back.

Through laughter, creativity, and shared moments, attendees experienced firsthand how art can serve as a bridge—connecting people not only to each other, but also to a greater cause.

Together, we raised $150, a beautiful reminder that when people come together with creativity and heart, even a simple gathering can make a meaningful impact and support a greater purpose.

Held at a charming equestrian location in Temecula (CRC), the setting added a peaceful, grounding atmosphere to the experience. Surrounded by nature, participants were able to slow down, unwind, and immerse themselves in the creative process.

👩‍🎨 What Attracted You to Painting

“I’ve been painting since I was six, so it’s kind of always been part of my life. And as a graphic designer for most of my life, I’ve always been creative, but painting is different… It’s more relaxing.

I started realizing how much it helps people slow down, forget about stress, and just enjoy the moment. And I love sharing that. It’s such a fun way to meet people, laugh, and kind of build a little community without even trying.”

🤝 How do you use painting to bring people together?

“For me, painting has always been a way to relax, let go of stress, and just be present. It’s a little escape from the everyday… and honestly, a bit like therapy (but way more fun!).

ARTorable is all about “fun art” — no pressure, no experience needed. Whether you come with friends, family, coworkers, or on your own, it’s a chance to laugh, connect, and create something you’re proud of. Paint parties are a great way to bond, celebrate, and just enjoy the moment together.

I keep everything simple and easy to follow, so anyone can do it. And the best part? You don’t need a reason to paint. It’s just a fun, relaxing way to spend time with others and try something new.

And now, I’m also focusing on something close to my heart, Art that gives back. I love using my skills to support nonprofits and meaningful causes, bringing people together through creativity while making a positive impact in the community.”

🎉 Do you offer private painting parties?

“Yes, I do! I host private parties for birthdays, team events, fundraisers, or just a fun night with friends—basically any occasion. I bring all the supplies and fun art to you!

I guide everyone step-by-step, so no experience is needed. It’s really just about having a good time and creating something together.”

❤️ What inspired you to hold a fundraising event for VSL?

“I love what Seeds of Life is doing for the community, bringing people together and giving back. That’s something that really speaks to me.

Growing up in Colombia, we always put family first and shared meals together at the table. It’s something that, nowadays, families don’t always prioritize, and hearing you talk about bringing that back really resonated with me.

So being able to combine art with a meaningful cause and support their mission just felt like a perfect fit.”
