Growing Minds, Going Green—One Seed at a Time

Vlada’s Seeds of Life is thrilled to announce the expansion of its mission-driven initiative to the vibrant city of Chicago. In partnership with the Chicago Public Library system, this heart-centered project will make its local debut at the Wrightwood-Ashburn Library, located at 8830 S. Kedzie Avenue, Chicago, IL 60652. The program officially launches on June 21st and runs through August 3rd, aligning with the library’s community-focused initiative: “Going Green.”

This exciting collaboration is part of the library’s larger “Growing Minds, Going Green” initiative, designed to educate and empower residents—especially youth—with hands-on sustainability and urban gardening experiences. As part of the launch, Vlada’s Seeds of Life will donate free seeds, giving residents an opportunity to plant their own gardens and explore the benefits of a natural and more sustainable lifestyle.

The program is supported by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, whose commitment to healthier, greener communities reflects the core values of this program. Together, we hope to inspire urban dwellers to reconnect with nature, even in the heart of a bustling city like Chicago.

Why Seeds Matter

Vlada’s Seeds of Life believes in the transformative power of something as small and simple as a seed. Through seed donations and community partnerships, the project helps plant the roots—literally and figuratively—of self-reliance, wellness, and environmental consciousness.

Urban areas face unique challenges when it comes to accessing fresh, healthy food and engaging with nature. By distributing seeds and encouraging home or community gardening, this initiative hopes to spark long-term change—one family, one garden, one neighborhood at a time.
