From her humble means of a life on a farm in Serbia, Vlada Vladic, CEO and founder of Vlada’s Seeds of Life (VSL) at the age of 19 packed up her suitcase filled with dreams and came to America with only a few dollars in her pocket. Vlada came to America to share her vision and passion for family and food.
With this passion comes responsibility.
Vlada turned her vision into reality by creating the family program called Cooking and Kids in 2009. Cooking and Kids is produced specifically for local and national public access television stations, libraries, schools and other educational institutions with the mission of educating and inspiring kids and families to cook and have a healthier lifestyle that could be passed on. The show focuses on sharing a meal together as a family – from selecting the recipe, chopping up the ingredients to baking/grilling/cooking, the entire family participates in creating the food that they consume together. In truly sharing and preparing a meal together, Vlada believes that families can learn from each other and foster stronger relationships ultimately building a healthier and stronger America. First episodes of Cooking and Kids were released in October of 2017 and since then 17 more episodes have been made available for free on public access television stations nationwide as well on our YouTube channel.
Positive family program produced by real people.
Every production of Cooking and Kids is a family event and Vlada herself manages all the creative direction on set; taping and the editing the slice of life content . The quality speaks for itself as over 20 million households have viewed episodes online and there are over 229 public access television stations in 40 states currently broadcasting Cooking and Kids.
The impact of positive programming and the joy of reconnecting families.
From garden to table, the satisfaction on kid’s faces when they see the fruits of their labor pay off is priceless. Their joy and the overall positivity of the experience creates an environment that stays true to Vlada Seeds for Life’s mission: The joy of cooking healthy meals together and enriching family bonds.
