In this episode, our cameras travel to the peaceful countryside of Serbia for a story that is as meaningful as it is beautiful — a story about bees, nature, tradition, and the small but powerful ways we can all help protect our planet.

This special episode centers around the importance of preserving bees and educating younger generations about the essential role these remarkable creatures play in our everyday lives. Bees are responsible for pollinating much of the food we eat, supporting biodiversity, and helping ecosystems thrive. Yet today, bee populations around the world face growing challenges from pesticides, climate change, and habitat loss.
Our goal with this episode is simple: to inspire children and families to see bees not with fear, but with curiosity, appreciation, and respect.
To help tell this story, Vlada visits someone very close to her heart — her children’s godmother, Vukica Lazic, a gentle and kind beekeeper whose love for bees shines through in every moment. Nestled among the natural beauty of the Serbian countryside, Vukica introduces us to the peaceful art of beekeeping and the incredible harmony that exists inside a hive.
Through her warmth and knowledge, young viewers are invited into a world many have never seen before. They will learn how bees communicate, how honey is made, and why protecting pollinators matters not only to farmers and beekeepers, but to every single one of us.
Most importantly, the episode reminds us that even small actions can make a difference. Planting flowers that attract pollinators, avoiding harmful pesticides, supporting local honey producers, and teaching children to appreciate nature are all meaningful steps toward helping secure the future of bees.
No visit to Serbia would be complete without honoring tradition through food, and this episode concludes with something truly special — an old-fashioned Serbian honey cake.

This beloved recipe, passed down through generations, is one of the treasures of Serbian baking. Made with locally harvested honey, freshly grown walnuts, olive oil, farm eggs, and wheat cultivated in backyard fields, the cake reflects a simpler time when food was organic, seasonal, and deeply connected to the land.
As the honey cake bakes, filling the kitchen with warmth and sweetness, the message of the episode becomes beautifully clear: when we protect bees, we protect traditions, families, food, and the natural world itself.
We hope this episode encourages viewers of all ages to look a little closer at the tiny creatures buzzing around our gardens — and to understand just how much our world depends on them.
